Why helpful? Someone once told me a great story about the actor Bill Nighy. It's said that he has a great reputation in the film industry for being extremely helpful, a fact that results in him landing the vast majority of his auditions for his genuine helpfulness over any perception of just trying to advance his own career. I've certainly found it true in my own career that the people I've gone back to time and again have been those who are the most helpful. So I'll be setting out with a Bill Nighy approach to things with this-is-helpful, and attempting to do exactly what I say on the tin.
