public speaking & teaching I've done a bit of public speaking in the past, from a cinema on a trading estate in Newport to the communal area of Wieden + Kennedy's Shanghai studio. And I quite enjoy sharing some of the stuff I've learnt over the years. I've also done a bit of guest lecturing in association with D&AD which was equally as rewarding. If you fancy having me over to talk at your place (be it a conference, marketing team meeting, or lunch time guest speaker) just let me know. Here are some previous endorsements so you know what to expect.

"Ted is an absolutely brilliant speaker. His style is warm, funny and engaging. We'd invite him back anytime."

Ryan Carson, founder, Carsonified

"Ted came into our Shanghai office and kept our agency captivated for an hour, telling the story of innocent. The brand is unknown here, so he had no good will or brand understanding to rely on. Luckily his patter and great selection of images got people on his side from the start. Explaining the finer points of knitting hats for drinks bottles the significance of a English village fete to a Chinese audience could have floored a lesser man, but he managed to make sense of them and show how these disparate elements were part of creating a unique personality for a company."

Nick Barham, Co-Executive Creative Director, Wieden + Kennedy Shanghai

"From start to finish, Ted had the audience engaged, entertained, and inspired with his original and thought-provoking presenting style. Honest, practical, and totally relevant, his content was by far the best of the conference and this was reflected in the exceptional feedback he received from delegates. Social media is a complex and overwhelming subject area but Ted made it accessible, teaching the audience how it can build brands and create very happy consumers. He was the star of the show and we look forward to nabbing him for other IAB events in the future."

Amy Kean, Head of IAB Social Media Council

"Entertaining and inspiring speaker, great examples of points and strategies and encouragement to explore ideas on our own brands. Quirky insights into use of digital media to engage - sometimes no strategy is best, fantastic talk."

Lucy Tucker, Learning & Development coordinator, The National Magazine Company Limited

"Ted came to Bucks New University on a two-fold mission. Firstly, he was to talk to my 2nd Year Advertising graduates about what the Innocent brand was all about and secondly, he was to give them an advertising brief to work on. He was successful on both counts. He brought to life innocent's history and brand values with a combination of first-hand anecdotes and amusing visual stimulus. The students were engaged throughout. The students responded to the well-judged, lively and relevant brief Ted delivered by producing some excellent work which Ted critiqued enthusiastically. Student feedback on the experience was overwhelmingly positive. In my view, with his fine communication skills, Ted would make an excellent teacher."

Phil Dearman, Senior Lecturer Creative Advertising, Bucks New University

What do I look like? This. Although hair and beard length may vary. And the sandwich is optional.

What else am I interested in and passionate about? I'm interested in a huge variety stuff and passionate about learning, documenting and experiencing anything and everything. It sounds vague but it's great fun, trust me. In the past 12 months I've; been invited to become a fellow of the RSA, wandered around East London galleries with Alan Yentob in tow, watched the ENO rehearse, been to the howies Do lectures and then done stuff, been paired with Buckinghamshire New University's Advertising Course as part of D&AD's Clinic, been to Colin from Radiohead's house for tea, had lunch with a retired nurse in Devon, bought a cracking book about attack submarines, sat next to Wayne McGregor at the Royal Opera House on an opening night, been to a seance, taken part in a meeting of strangers conversation picnic to celebrate a 77 year old sociologists birthday in Regents Park, got fascinated by behavioural economics and dropped into W+K Shanghai for a chat (amongst other stuff).
